Garbage Collection
The City of Cincinnati's Department of Public Services provides weekly garbage, yard waste (bi-weekly, April-January) and scheduled bulk items collection for residential properties that meet the definition of "dwelling" (as adopted by Ord. No. 41-2013). Garbage must be placed in a City-issued or "City-approved" cart. A "City-approved" cart is one that is compatible with DPS lifting equipment and registered with the City. These carts must have a lift pocket and a steel lower lift bar for fully automated and/or semi-automated collection systems. Garbage in carts is not to exceed 75 lbs. Register or request a cart on Cincy 311.
Duke Energy
Duke energy is a provider of electricity and natural gas in the Cincinnati area. Start, stop, or move service, report an outage, or pay bills online.
Recycling
For more than 30 years, Cincinnati residents have made recycling a daily habit, diverting more than 400,000 tons of material from the waste stream. Recycling efforts in Cincinnati have conserved enough energy to power every home in Cincinnati for five days, reduced more greenhouse gas pollution than if every household in Cincinnati did not drive a car for four weeks, and saved 102,980 trees from being harvested. Order a recycling cart, visit the Office of Environment & Sustainability, and view public drop-off locations.
